Hip Hop Electro (Algeria/UK)

Algerian rapper Rabah Donquishoot is a member of MBS (Micro Brise le Silence), Algerian most famous hip-hop band. Playing his first UK stage vs Dajjah’s live mutations of Middle-Eastern instruments with beats and bass

and whatever they are feeling – sounds stolen across the middle east, old Cairene 45's, obsolete analog gear & darbuka breaks.

BIBI TANGA & THE SELENITES
Jazz Groove (Centrafrique/France)

Born in Bangui, Centrafrique, Bibi Tanga is attracted to groove in all its shapes. Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Sly Stone and also Fela, the TPOK Jazz of Franco in Kinshasa, the National Guinean Bembeya Jazz remain his references.  With a powerful band, the Selenites (the moon inhabitants), he performs the material of his new album, 'Dunya'.

RAZIA SAID
folk (Madagascar)

Such is the abundance of unique flora and fauna to be found on Madagascar, that ecologists have referred to the sizeable Indian Ocean island as the 'eight continent'. Born and raised in Madagascar until the age of eleven, NY-based Razia Said rediscovered her island a few years ago and recorded the album ‘Zebu nation’ to raise awareness about the plight of her country’s beautiful nature. Running through her sound and original songs is a spirit that honours her Malagasy heritage.

PAPRIKA reloaded
Gypsy Jazz (Eastern Europe)
Hailing from Romania, Serbia and Slovenia, Paprika plays a hot and fiery blend of traditional gypsy music from the Balkans and Eastern Europe. Violinist Bogdan Vacarescu creates breathtaking melodies that range  from the silkily smooth to the impossibly furious, while guitar and bass provide an intriguing harmonic foundation of frequently odd rhythms with unpredictable solo eruptions. Meanwhile, the accordionists do the wild gypsy fling with abandon.

JESUS CUTINO & SON DE CUBA
Salsa (Cuba/UK)
Jesús Cutiño was born in Oriente Cuba and moved to London in 1998. He quickly became a feature of the UK salsa scene, joining the band Ska Cubano in 2004 and touring around the world with them. He has recently formed his own band, the spicy  ‘Son de Cuba’!
